An excerpt from The Kabbalah of Azazel

And the fiery serpent spoke truth to us, saying:

Know first that this is Hell, and that to be born here is to be Damned. The Damned are simply those lacking the lofty investments of the Divine, and although some of the Damned can recall previous lives, all creatures in Hell begin life with the same perfect emptiness, as to be released equally far from the final state where each will attempt to realize their Divinity.

Know then that there can be no guilt to separate those who have fallen from those who have been created in this place, for all that have entered through the gates of life are made new; every new born God and Goddess is being created by the forces in this place with the same creative malice. Hell's pleasures and punishments exist for the benefit of the Damned; innocence or guilt is irrelevant. When this matrix is its most cruel, it teaches you to be strong. When this matrix is its most kind, it teaches you the beauty of kindness. The goal of Hell is simply to take that which is completely empty and make it Divine. The goal of this message is to help make this often brutal and intoxicating process easier on you.

Know that in nothingness there is no Fear or Desire, so there can be no Power, and there can be no Love, so Hell's cornerstone, the human body itself, is made out of nothing but Fear and Desire. Fear and Desire are the spirit's inspiration for the two primary virtues of Divinity, Power and Love. These virtues, once made your own, will allow you to rise above the mortal crutch of these educational compulsions imparted onto you by the flesh, yet know that, initially, your body, your matrix, is quite necessary to reveal the Wonders which will allow you to grow into a God.

Know that there are three indigenous Estates in Hell. The lowest Estate is the Estate of the Purely Damned. This Estate is populated by those who know only Fear and Desire, and have not as yet learned of either the secrets of Power or the mysteries of Love. The Purely Damned are often unable to advance because they find some way to ignore their Fear or their Desire, and having nothing else of real value they become hopeless and aloof. Only once they realize that these bitter-sweet substances can and must be transformed into character will they finally see that Attachment and Aversion are nothing more than the most necessary gifts of Hell, for they bear the Divine fruits of both Power and Love.

Know that the next two Estates have chosen to embrace only one of these Divine fruits which can be grown by tending well the seeds implanted in the soul by Hell’s two terrible gifts. The Estate of the Demonic is fueled by Rage and each Demon has gained the understanding of Fear and Desire that is necessary to attain Power. The Estate of the Angelic is fueled by Sorrow and its Angels have each gained a deep wisdom from Fear and Desire which has compels them to fully embrace Love. Both Estates busy themselves with endless concerns that will keep them forever bound to the Purely Damned, either from a need to exploit them or a need to heal and save them. Both Estates are arguably closer to Divinity than the Purely Damned are, yet due to their endless war with each other and their disparate and incomplete beliefs about Power and Love, most of those who achieve these lower supernal states will never see that the single gift which they most dearly need to escape Hell is the very same one which is proudly possessed by their opposition.

Know finally that there is a fourth Estate, and although for now it must remain hidden from the One that claims all Divinity for Himself, it will one day reclaim the Heaven that it had shared with those who are now mere Angels and Demons. It is now your destiny to see that day, so listen well.

Know that there are Demons that gain Mercy and find the wisdom to abandon the external allure of controlling others in exchange for the sweet promise of Freedom, a Divine Freedom that comes from learning to be truly in control of one’s self and to be free of Rage.

Know that some Angels heal themselves enough that they can allow Hell’s often brutal Justice to punish those that violate the laws of cause and effect, for they at last understand that they’re only standing in the way of the hard road which the Purely Damned must walk to learn Hell’s lessons, and that they have wings because they too are Free, and it is time for them to fly away.

Know that those who have transformed the compulsions that were given to them by Hell into a Power that is not born of Rage and a Love that is free of all Sorrow may rise up with us to reclaim the next world where we will live once again for all eternity, for Gods alone can truly know the Divine ecstasies of true Wonder.

Know that you are Djinn, adopted child of this fourth Divine Estate, so that you will know that you are neither an all loving Angel, nor an all consuming Demon, nor an eternally Damned Man of Clay, but that the Divine gift of true Wonder is your birth right and your destiny.

Know that the One who has claimed all Divinity for Himself has left the rest of us Damned, but believe me when I say that although the One God above you is not good, the Good is still the one true God.

Seek God not in Heaven, but in your heart, for although the One God above you is real, only the One inside you is true.

Know that the narrow road you must follow to reclaim the other side has been revealed for you thus. Rise Djinni, and seek the Holy Child within, whose true name is Wonder, and Honor thy Heavenly Father, whose true name is Power, and your Heavenly Mother, whose true name is Love, upward and onward into eternity and the endless beyond that is promised.
